Wrestling at 4 Hands!

Beer. Foods. Pro-Wrestling!

Yeah. I'm a bit of a pro wrestling fan. I've been an "on-again, off-again" fan since I was a kid. My fandom has evolved quite a bit since those calf-eyed days of watching insane promos and immovable objects battling irresistable forces.

Hell, the business itself has evolved since then. There's a lot of information on the business out there, so I'm not going to delve into the minutiae of it all here. There's a rich and interesting history of pro wrestling to explore, and it's a pretty rewarding journey if you run it down.

For the uninitiated, these are the Theseus, Achilles, Perseus, Odysseus, and Hercules of our time. View pro wrestling as modern-day, Roman gladiator competition. Mix it with comic book and action movie combat. Suspend your disbelief. Look into that ring with the wide-eyed wonder of a 10-year-old boy, and you'll be superbly entertained by the athletic and thespianic abilities of the performers.

If you happen to live in or near St. Louis, consider attending. There will be lots of awesome food from several of St. Louis' best food trucks. Seriously, there's some DAMN. FINE. EATS. to be experienced (Seoul Taco alone is worth the trip). The host, St. Louis' best craft brewery, will be introducing their new brew, Apricot Slam! (with their other EPIC brews on tap).

As far as pro wrestling goes, if you haven't experienced Dynamo Pro, I can't speak of them highly enough. I trained with a lot of these guys 10 years ago (before I destroyed my back), and I can say they legit know the biz. Damn fine workers who put their blood, sweat, tears, body, and soul into their matches. Damn fine athletes who will sacrifice themselves to entertain you. And the promoters, Jim and Crystal, are some of the most dedicated people in the business.

I'll be there with my better half. If you want to say hi, find the dude with 70's hair wearing the Mortal Kombat t-shirt. Buy a (damn fine) brew to support your local craft brewery. Buy some (damn fine) foods to support your local...erm...craft? makers. Cheer the faces and boo the heels to support your local pro wrestling promotion. High-five me and frequent my (moderately okay) page to support your local (sorta active) entertainment blogger.

Above all: Live. Love. Laugh.

And stay awesome, friends.
