Music Monday: Europe - Last Look at Eden

So, I'm dumping Spotify for Music Monday. I've come to the realization that not everyone has/wants a Spotify account (even though it's free), and to be honest the web player leaves a lot to be desired as far as functionality. I'd really like to embed Google Play stuff, but I've yet to find any official link code. So YouTube will be the flavor of the week, for now. You'll also notice that I've switched to a very minimal style for the blog. The last style was better than the previous, but still had flaws. I've decided that I'd rather hook people with content, than wow them with style. If the dish tastes great, who cares if it looks bland.

You'd more readily recognize today's artist if I posted their one-hit wonder single, "The Final Countdown." However, this tune is epic. This is what music is supposed to be. Not the over-produced, bubble gum crap that American Idol spoon feeds your brain every week. Music should have emotion, depth...a part of the artist's soul should come with every single. Believe it or not, many of those one-hit wonders from the 80's actually had successful careers, full of seriously epic music. Unfortunately, many couldn't find a hold in the ADHD US market, so folks state-side really missed out on some truly fantastic tunes. Much the same with one of my absolute favorites, Gary Numan, who many credit as being the father of modern industrial rock (though, Gary is experiencing something of a career Renaissance, thanks in part to Trent Reznor).

Sorry...putting the soapbox away for now. Enjoy the tune.

So, my personal shit seems to be in stasis for the moment. I'm hoping that means I'll have more time to devote to some personal projects, one of which is this blog. I've been putting time into some of my favorite MMO's (as I am a MMO slutbag), so I may put together some "Let's Play" type articles...haven't decided if those will include video or just pics yet. Also, I invested in RPG Maker several months ago, with the intent of turning one of my old screenplays into an old-school RPG (and possibly churning out some other games). But, as promises. If I release anything, it will most likely be free, and you'll see it here.

Stay awesome, friends.
